VISIT OF THE AMERICAN EMBASSY REPRESENTATIVE

On Monday, December 17, the mayor of Brod Mr. Ilija Jovicic met the epresentatives of the United States Embassy, Banja Luka Branch Office. Mr. Charles Blake, Deputy Head of Office for business affairs, wanted to meet some municipalities. During his stay in Brod, Mr. Blake visited the Municipal Administration, the company “SCAI Adapter” and some other business entities.

The topic of the conversation in the mayor’s office was foreign investments in the Municipality of Brod and the area of cooperation with the Branch Office in Banja Luka. “We have good cooperation with the embassies,” said Jovicic, adding that this brings “good things that are provided to municipalities thanks to cooperation with foreign organizations and embassies”. During the meeting, Mayor Jovicic highlighted the issue of energy efficiency of the High School Center and some other facilities.

THE ЕCONOMIC COUNCIL HELD ITS SESSION

The Economic Council of the Municipality of Brod held its 10^th session on Wednesday, December 12^th, at the meeting hall of the Municipality starting from 6 pm. The session was chaired by the President of the Council Mr. Gradimir Vukman. The meeting was attended by the members of the Council, the Mayor of the Municipality Mr. Ilija Jovicic, the point processors and officials of the Municipal Administration who explained the items on the agenda and a journalist from Radio Brod.

The session was called to discuss certain items on the agenda that will be found at the 23rd regular session of the Municipal Assembly of Brod. Members of the Council adopted the following agenda:

Approval of the minutes from the previous session,
2019 Draft Budget,
Draft of the Credit Decision,
Capital Investment Plan,
Draft Decision on Utility Fee,
Revision of Skele Regulatory Plan,
Merging utility companies,
Work Plan of the Economic Council for 2019,
Miscellaneous.

During the discussion, the members of the Council presented suggestions and remarks that will be used in further work of the Municipal Administration.

Brod at the Real Estate and Investment Fair

The Municipality of Brod is participating in the two-day International Fair of Real Estate and Investment “Expo 2018” in Banja Luka. The second, Real Estate and Investment Fair opened at 11 am today. The manifestation at the Banja Luka Fair was opened by the Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska, Petar Đokić.

At its booth, the Municipality of Brod presented investment zones, facilities for investors and tourist potentials. Today’s opening of the Fair and the booth of the municipality was also visited by the mayor of the Municipality of Brod Ilija Jovičić. With Minister Đokić, the Mayor of Jovičić discussed the development of the business environment in Brod.

CONSTRUCTION IN BUSINESS ZONES

In the municipality of Brod and in the beginning of November the construction season does not end. The contractor is in the area of Skele in the part designated for the business zone, for the regulation of the access to investors in the business zone. The road is worth 85,746.60 BAM without VAT. The road stretches along the main road from the settlement Skele to the City pools and will be connected to the Branko Kovačević Street. As previously announced for this business zone, investment proposals and projects are already being considered. The works are financed by the Ministry of Finance of Republika Srpska, based on the Decision on allocation of funds for the business zone in the municipality of Brod from the clearing debt.
Citizens also noticed the construction of business facilities. In addition to the City Pools, the buildings of Elektro – Doboj company are in the advanced stage of construction and are well advanced. We also visited the purchased parcel of the company Krampic where the construction of a new hall was built. In addition to the main road to the border crossing, the works continue to regulate the TC Tropik – My Market facility, the construction of a flat station and a business center, which contributes to the improvement of the business environment in Brod.

PROMOTION OF INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES

At 10 o’clock, a meeting was held regarding the BFC certification. The meeting was attended by a representative of CRS. This organization provides consulting assistance to the Brod municipality in the certification process.
At the meeting we presented the new brochures or “guides” of the Municipal Administration. These promotional “guides” are intended for entrepreneurs and investors.
CRS organized a promotional video of Brod and an additional new website for the promotion of the municipality www.investinbrod.com with the Department for Local Development of the Municipality.
