The Municipality of Brod has successfully completed another significant stage in the process of certification of cities and municipalities with a favorable business environment in Southeast Europe (BFC SEE – Business Friendly Certification South East Europe).

Yesterday, a verification visit was held in the premises of the Municipal Administration by an international commission consisting of: Mišel Pavlica (Republika Srpska), Jovica Damnjanović (Serbia) and Petar Trpčevski (North Macedonia).

The visit was also attended by Olivera Radić and Svjetlana Kević Zrnić, as representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republika Srpska, which is an accredited institution for the realization of the favorable business environment certification program in the Republika Srpska.

During this phase of the process, the commission analyzed the compliance of the local self-government with the requirements of this internationally recognized standard, which includes ten complex criteria and a total of 62 sub-criteria, including 15 elimination ones.

The municipality was obliged to submit 35 numerical indicators, as well as six examples of good practice. The key condition for obtaining a certificate is the fulfillment of at least 75% of all criteria, with mandatory fulfillment of all elimination criteria.

The BFC SEE certification process takes place through several stages, and the verification visit, which included a detailed analysis of the submitted documentation and an assessment of the fulfillment of standards, represents the final check.

The evaluation commission determined that the Municipality of Brod fulfilled 83.85% of all prescribed criteria, which confirms the continuous work on creating an efficient, predictable and attractive business environment.

The verification visit was attended by Mayor Milan Zečević, Head of the Department for Economy and Social Activities Draženka Duronja, Head of the Department for Local Development Mihaela Malešević, as well as members of the Certification Program Implementation Team led by coordinator Boro Grabovec.
