Representatives of the Chinese Corporation “Shandong Hi-Speed” Visit the Municipality of Brod

Representatives of the European branch of the Chinese company China Shandong International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group Ltd., which is part of the Shandong Hi-Speed Group Co., Ltd., visited the Municipality of Brod today.

During the meeting with Mayor Milan Zečević and the municipal leadership, held at the Municipal Administration offices, discussions focused on possibilities for economic and cultural cooperation, as well as potential joint projects of mutual interest.

The representatives of the Chinese company presented the corporation’s operations and portfolio, while the hosts showcased the numerous economic potentials that Brod has to offer.

In addition to economic cooperation, the meeting also addressed cultural collaboration, and as a first step, a visit by students from Brod to the Chinese Cultural Center in Belgrade was announced.

The delegation consisted of Zhang Jianchao, Deputy General Director of China Shandong International Economic & Technical Cooperation Group Ltd.; Guo Hengyan, General Director of the European Branch; Wang Yan, General Director of China Shandong Hi-Speed Qianfang International Technology Co., Ltd.; and Hu Mingzhuang, Business Manager at the same company.

The Shandong Hi-Speed Group operates in more than 22 provinces across China and in over 100 countries worldwide, ranking among the top 500 Chinese enterprises.

The visit of the company’s representatives to the Municipality of Brod is a result of the contacts established by Mayor Milan Zečević during his previous two visits to China.

The BizUp Goes Green&Digital program (more information at the link) is co-financed by the European Union (EU) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of the Federal Republic of Germany through the Private Sector Development Initiative in BiH. This initiative is part of the broader GIZ Sustainable Economic Development and Employment Promotion (SEDEP) program in BiH.

The program is open to female entrepreneurs from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina who want to strengthen their businesses and actively contribute to the green transition through innovative practices (whether it is the use of sustainable materials, energy efficiency, circular economy, waste reduction, environmental protection or other sustainable business models) as well as improving their digital presence, automating processes, using digital tools and platforms or developing digital products and services.

The goal of the program is to provide support to female entrepreneurs in developing and improving green, digital and sustainable business practices, mastering specific knowledge and skills in the field of sustainably responsible business, and strengthening the competitiveness, resilience and visibility of their businesses on the market.

Public call of the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship for the award of incentives for improving the competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises in 2025

The public call was published on July 26, 2025 in the daily newspaper “Glas Srpske” and on the website of the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship and remains open until Monday, August 18, 2025.

Economic Potentials of the Municipality of Brod Presented at the Economic Forum of Republika Srpska and the Republic of Tatarstan

As part of strengthening economic and trade ties between Republika Srpska and the Republic of Tatarstan, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska, Goran Račić, and the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Tatarstan signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday, July 23, in Banja Luka.

This agreement represents a significant step toward enhancing bilateral economic cooperation between the two republics.

Following the signing ceremony, the Republika Srpska – Republic of Tatarstan Economic Forum was held, featuring more than ten domestic companies from the agriculture and food processing sectors. The forum also included a series of bilateral meetings, during which representatives of the Tatarstan delegation had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with ten local communities from Republika Srpska.

The Municipality of Brod was represented at the forum by Mihaela Malešević, Head of the Local Development Department, who presented in detail the economic potentials of this local community. During the presentation, the efforts made by the municipality to attract investments were highlighted, as well as the numerous benefits and opportunities Brod offers to potential investors.

The main goal of the forum was to showcase the economic potentials of Republika Srpska, with a focus on establishing and strengthening investment cooperation with the Republic of Tatarstan.

The event was attended by high-ranking officials, including the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Igor Kalabukhov, the Head of the Republika Srpska Representation in Moscow, Duško Perović, the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, ministers from the Republika Srpska government, and numerous entrepreneurs.

At this forum, the Municipality of Brod further emphasized its strategic importance as an attractive investment destination, thereby contributing to the promotion of economic development and regional cooperation.
