Call for Companies to Participate in International Business Meetings at the 26th International Economy Fair, Mostar, April 8-12, 2025

The Foreign Trade Chamber of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the coordinator of the BITNET consortium of the European Enterprise Network and event organizer, in cooperation with INTERA Technology Park from Mostar, as the consortium partner, the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska as co-organizer from the Republic of Srpska, and other partners from the European Enterprise Network, will once again organize international B2B meetings within the framework of the 26th International Economy Fair in Mostar.

The Economy Fair will be held from April 8-12, 2025, with Italy being the partner country.

The business meetings (B2B) will take place:

April 9, 2025, onsite from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the following location:

Conference Hall on the 1st floor of the Fair Management building (Pavilion 1)

April 10, 2025, virtually (online), via the B2match platform.

Info session within the Second call for submitting project applications for the public call of the Interreg IPA VI-A program

On Thursday, March 20, 2025, representatives of the Department for Local Development of the Brod Municipal Administration, Zorica Knežević and Mihaela Malešević, attended an info session within the framework of the Second call for submission of project applications for the public call for the Interreg IPA VI-A program Croatia-Bosnia and Herzegovina-Montenegro 2021-2027.

The event was also attended by numerous representatives of local self-government units, public institutions, non-governmental organizations, development agencies, chambers of commerce and other potential applicants from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Montenegro.

During the info session, attendees were presented with key information about the Program, Guidelines for applicants, instructions on preparing a project proposal and submitting it through the Jems electronic system, as well as other useful technical information.

Participants also had the opportunity to ask questions and through the answers receive advice for improving the quality of project proposals.

Council Memberrs of the Brod Municipality Adopted the Decision to Establish the „Free Zone Brod“

At the 4th regular session of the Brod Municipal Assembly held today, there were 40 agenda items, and the councilors, among other things, unanimously adopted the Decision to establish the “Free Zone Brod”.

The area of ​​the “Free Zone Brod” is defined by the scope of the Spatial Plan of the Municipality of Brod for the period 2017-2037, covering a total area of ​​14.16 hectares, namely 9.85 hectares at the location in Kralja Petra Prvog Oslobodioca Street and 4.31 hectares at the location in Brodskog bataljona Street.

Commenting on the decision of the councilors to support this agenda item, the President of the Brod Municipal Assembly Miloš Stanišić said that this is a significant step in the process of obtaining a duty-free zone in the territory of the municipality of Brod.

“Given that we have clarified the property and legal relations in the Business Zone towards the swimming pools and that another interested company “Adapteri” has expressed interest in their circle entering that category, the first step has been taken – the Proposal on the establishment of the “Free Zone”, Stanišić emphasized and added that the Assembly will have the opportunity to discuss this issue several more times.

The final effects of adopting the aforementioned Decision should be reflected in an increase in the number of business entities operating in the municipality, an increase in the number of employees with an increase in personal income paid in the area of ​​our local community, with a simultaneous increase in direct taxes and secondary tax payments, and non-tax revenues paid into the budget of the Municipality of Brod.

In addition to this, the councilors also adopted several points that are important for the functioning of the Municipal Administration, public enterprises, advisory bodies and the Municipal Assembly.

At the proposal of the Mayor, and by decision of the Municipal Assembly of Brod, Dijana Tomazović was appointed Head of the Department for General Administration. The Head of the Department for Economy and Social Affairs will be Draženka Duronja, and the Head of the Department for Finance will be Radojka Popadić. The Head of the Department for Spatial Planning and Property-Legal Affairs in the next four-year term will be Sanela Latinović, and the Head of the Department for Housing, Utilities and Ecology will be Gordana Žarić.

The President of the Brod Municipal Assembly wished the appointed mayors success in their work, and expressed hope for good cooperation in the coming period.

Today, the members of the Brod Municipal Assembly voted Goran Garačić as the Acting Director of the Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Brod, and Milijana Knežić as the Acting Director of the Public Institution “Center for Social Work”.

Vesna Bojić was appointed Secretary of the Municipal Assembly and Editor-in-Chief of the Official Gazette of the Municipality of Brod.

A new convocation of the Economic Council was also appointed, and this advisory body will have 17 members over the next four years. At today’s session of the Brod Municipal Assembly, members of the Traffic Safety Council (Željko Šainović, Milan Šljuka, Bojan Popović, Tanja Vasilić, Petar Rakić and Biljana Reljić), as well as 25 members of the Plan Council for monitoring the development of the Urban Plan of the Brod urban settlement, were also appointed.

Members of the Assembly Commission for Religious Affairs, the Commission for Ecology, the Commission for Population Policy, and the Committee for Local Communities, Regional and International Cooperation, the Committee for Gender Equality, the Committee for the Code of Conduct, and the Council for the Development of Agriculture, Rural Areas, Water Management and Forestry were also appointed today.

Several regular items from the Assembly’s work program were also adopted, including the Program for the Maintenance of Local and Uncategorized Roads and Streets in Settlements in the Municipality of Brod for 2025, the Program for the Use of Funds from the Fee for Converting Agricultural Land to Non-Agricultural Purposes and from Rent for 2025, and the Plan for the Purposeful Spending of Funds Generated from the Fee for Performing Activities of General Interest in privately owned forests in 2025.

By decision of 24 councilors, the Draft Integrated Capital Investment Program of the Municipality of Brod for the period 2025-2027 was adopted in accordance with the previously adopted Development Strategy of the Municipality of Brod.

The Report on the Expenditure of Financial Resources from the Budget of the Municipality of Brod for the Work of the Association of Prisoners of War – Camp Inmates in 2024 was adopted.

The Report on the Implementation of the Plan for the Expenditure of Funds Generated from the Sale of Forest and Timber Products for the Development of Undeveloped Areas of the Municipality of Brod in 2024 was unanimously adopted, the Report on the Implementation of the Plan for the Expenditure of Funds Generated from Compensation for Performing Activities of General Interest in Privately Owned Forests in 2024, and the Report on the Implementation of the Program for the Use of Funds from Fees for Converting Agricultural Land to Non-Agricultural Purposes and from Leases for 2024, and the Report on the Implementation of the Program for the Expenditure of Funds from Special Water Fees in 2024 were unanimously adopted.

The proposal for a Conclusion on the acceptance of the Information on the state of public order, security of citizens and property in the territory of the municipality of Brod was also adopted, as well as the Information on the state of health care in the territory of the municipality of Brod was adopted by the votes of 20 councilors.

The Report on the Work of the Mayor of Brod Municipality and the Municipal Administration for 2024, the Report on the Work of the Brod Municipality Assembly and Assembly Bodies, and the Report on the Spending of Financial Resources Allocated from the Brod Municipality Budget for the Work of the Veterans’ Organization in 2024 did not receive the support of the majority of councilors.

The members of the Municipal Assembly supported the decision to appoint a new composition of the Economic Council of the Municipality of Brod

At today’s 4th regular session of the Municipal Assembly (SO) of Brod, the members voted, among other things, to approve the new composition of the Economic Council of the Municipality of Brod.

The decision appointed 17 members, 11 of whom had previously participated in the work of this advisory body of the Mayor. Appointed members of the Economic Council are  Gradimir Vukman, Luka Šljivić, Branko Džabić, Milivoje Đurđević, Borjan Ninić, Vid Rakić, Đorđe Maksimović, Dejan Simidžija, Josip Jerković, Goran Duronja, Milan Plavšić, Mika Zečević, Marko Vidić, Saša Subašić, Dejan Petrić, Dražen Tešanović and Dario Pajić.

The first meeting of the newly appointed members will take place before the Easter holidays, during which a new president of the Economic Council of the Municipality of Brod will be elected.

Public Call for Female Entrepreneurs to Apply for Participation in the Study Visit Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Following the successful implementation of the study visit program for female entrepreneurs in December 2024, the 787 Foundation invites female entrepreneurs from across Bosnia and Herzegovina to apply for participation in study visits that will take place in May and September 2025.

This opportunity is aimed at all female entrepreneurs who wish to improve their business operations, expand their business networks, and acquire new knowledge and skills from more experienced entrepreneurs and experts from various industries.

The study visit is a two-day program during which 10 selected female entrepreneurs will have the chance to visit successful businesses, learn about best practices, and make direct contact with key individuals in selected companies. Each visit and selection of companies will be carefully tailored based on your interests and the areas in which you wish to improve your business skills and knowledge.

If you want to learn from other entrepreneurs, exchange experiences, and expand your business horizons, this is the opportunity for you.

The study visits represent an opportunity to:

  • Create new business connections: Establish contacts with other entrepreneurs and expand your business network, which can be crucial for the future growth of your business.
  • Acquire new knowledge and skills: Broaden your knowledge and acquire new skills that will assist you in your daily operations and make you more competitive in the market.

The criteria that will be considered when selecting applicants are as follows:

  • The founder/owner or majority co-founder/co-owner of the business is a woman (regardless of her age group).

Selected entrepreneurs for the first study visit will be contacted by April 20, and for the second visit in early August 2025. The 787 Foundation covers all participation costs.
